Location: Coach House
Peace flags are made as a visual expression of dreams and hopes, and used to create sanctuary in various spaces. For this workshop, we draw from the ancient and sacred practice of prayer flags, which began in India thousands of years ago before spreading to Tibet. These flags are hung outside with the belief that the intentions described on them will be carried with the wind to all corners of the Earth. All participants will have the opportunity to create a string of three to five unique flags that represent their hopes and dreams for themselves and the world. The workshop will be led by Asake Denise Foye-Jones who is a fiber and mixed media artist that has honed her craft with other artists, master quilters, and several national and international institutions.
